For Students: Artist's Statement

I love video editing! My career goal is to become a video director. I'm really good with working with what I have. I am a very flexible person and always open to learning new things. So far, all my experience has been in editing. My inspiration comes from the music I listen to. It also comes from the places I have been to like school, Mexico, and various other places. I try to be nice even when working under pressure. I am very good at dealing with stress and prioritizing. If you were to give me a new device or software and allow me to explore it I would be able to figure out, at minimum, the basics. I think my strengths are being flexible, and a generally patient person. It doesn't matter what type of environment i work in, to me every things okay.
My next project has to do with a video/documentary. There is a song I was listening to, and the lyrics really touched me. The song gave me some inspiration to make a video about succeeding and graduating from school. This video is for my benefit only, and if I succeed it would be the first video that I have directed and edited.
Some criticism may hurt, but i will not cry, or get upset. I can accept suggestions and opinions, and use then for my benefit. I love listening to what others have to say about my work, and I use their suggestions for future improvement.
I always have my ipod with me and I love listening to music as much as I possibly can. Sometimes, my class will sound so dead that I hide my head phones and listen to music to corrupt the silence. One day, someone stole my ipod. I was devastated and lost. It was as if someone ripped off my other half. That how important music is in my life. You may be thinking "She's a little obsessed with music", but no, I just love music that much. Music is part of my creativity. As I walk somewhere, I listen to my ipod and imagine a music video. I don't need anything to be inspired, all I need is my own creativity.
My character is suitable, sure i can be loud, but that is so people can hear me better. I am very nice and I am open to helpful, and creative ideas.
