- For some reason Photography was something that I can do really easy since the first time I got my camera. The concept of light, camera angles, balance, color, where like second nature to me. I am blessed to have a brother that draws comics books. So, I actually learned photography through watching comic book.

I am in charge to come up with a concept and overall image for a company as well as to find the best way to advertise ensuring that the new branding and advertising help promote for their company or product. The main role is to interpret the client’s communications strategy and then develop proposed creative approaches that align with that strategy. Then, I focus on make the design using many applications. It could be from developing the logo, then from there designing the layout of the website and from there coding the site for the web. Also, I create the stationary (business cards, letterhead, envelopes, brochures).

I was in charge to develop custom designs to each one of the team in a soccer league. Taking in consideration their team logo and colors of the uniform, I design a sport card that went along with their identity. Once the card was design, I used to go to one of their games to take pictures and gather information of each one of the players. Then I created a card for each player.

Produce images for a variety of clients to help them promote their company or product. Fashion photography was used to promote clothing companies. Sports photography was for the usage of the teams for advertising or archive.

Milestones
Well, it's March and spring is upon us. The Media Diversity Council has come a long way in the last two years. We now serve almost 500 students and professionals across Texas and next Tuesday will be our second annual Show Your Reel Portfolio Awards at GSD&M Idea City. Students have attended our free tours of media companies and submitted their portfolios to be reviewed by professionals. We’ll recognize the best work and award our first cash scholarship.
As with last year’s Show Your Reel finalists, students are eligible to become Media Protégés and participate in job shadow activities, service learning projects and internships. The video posted here is of Media Protégé Gabriel Leal on a job serving as the producer and video tech. Media Protégés broadcasted a live webcast to thousands of students across Texas from the George Bush Presidential Library & Museum in College Station on The Life of a Buffalo Soldier. .
RISE Austin - Multicultural Series
I'm proud to be a part of the RISE Austin Multicultural Series going on this week. My friend, Mr. Donnell Creech over at Soul Citi put together this guide for African American presenters at the conference. RISE is a free event with wealth of networking and informational opportunities. I highly encourage you to check it out.
