For Students: Artist's Statement

I’ve always thought that the luckiest people in the world are those who end up doing what they love every day. I see the things I like and I realize that there is no bigger gift than the gift of magic. I still remember watching Barney and Sesame Street and being completely enraptured with fascination.
I want to become the best film maker and have other top film makers compete with me for Oscars one day. When people ask me who I want to be like, I don’t tell them that I want to be the next Steven Spieldberg or the next Neill Blomkamp. I tell them that I want to become the next Irving Juarez.
I strive for originality, I take what is around me and I use it to my advantage. I like to think outside the box and I like to make things out of scratch. I love learning new things that help me have better quality work. I never get tired of working on a design or a video because I feel like an artist, and I like to think that somewhere out there I may be the inspiration for someone. My dream is for someone to be inspired by my films and the stories I tell, and make a difference in someone's life. I hope that one day I will inspire an original-barney loving-Oscar winning-magician-filmmaker. When that day comes I know that I accomplished what I wanted.
