For Students: Artist's Statement
Ever since I was introduced to media technology I’ve been interested in perspective. Shared perspective can sensitize, entertain, thrill and even inspire audiences. I am fascinated by how creative human beings come together to collaborate and create impressive pieces of work. Writers, directors, editors, and even actors apply their perspective at one point or another when creating a “bigger picture”. The possibilities are endless.

Moreover, I feel emotionally connected to music more than anything else. Music is another way to express a perspective. It heals the soul and enlightens the mind. It is another area in which I'd like to explore its realm of possibilities.

My expectations for my career is to collaborate with anyone that has something they’d like to offer. Everyone has a point of view that differs from the next. For that reason I know that every project that I work on will never be the same. We are all unique individuals. I want to be able to see these individualities fuse into something bigger than its components.

Having said all this I realize that my journey has barely begun. I would like to go to film school to study directing and editing. I hope I inspire my audience to discover talents within themselves and within others around them. I realize that a career in media technology is going to take hard work and determination. Knowing that, I can challenge myself everyday to do better.

I am inspired by learning something new everyday. I am inspired by meeting someone new everyday.

Tell us something interesting about you.
I'm interested in music and film. I've been involved in Media Xperiments since early 2009. Ever since I've been submerged in a world of possibilities. I am currently focused in learning how to play the bass guitar and to develop my skills as a filmmaker.

Street Pharm

Street Pharm is a book written by Allison Van Diepen. The video I have posted was made using Toon Boom Storyboard Pro. It's my first animated storyboard sequence. It was made for a class assignment that required us to make trailers of books to engage students in reading.

Revenge 101 was a silent movie assignment. It was shot guerilla style with little to no planning. That should explain the lack of continuity in the story's timeline.

"The 10,000 Hour Rule" - Malcolm Gladwell's 'Outliers' (Author of Bestsellers such as Blink, and Staff Writer for The New Yorker)

Just recently I read a book called Outliers, written by Malcolm Gladwell. The book is about stories of success. There's much more to it than what you will read in this blog. That being said, I suggest you read the book yourself and I guarantee that it will change your perspective about s… Continue

Capital - 2 wealth in the form of money or other assets owned by a person or organization or available or contributed for a particular purpose such as starting a company or investing.

I guess cultural capital is the advantage one gets from those elements and sources, found… Continue
